Apex Assault and Little River Pirates Split In Wins In Opening Weekend

Posted: December 05, 2007 1:04AM; Updated: December 06, 2007 10:12AM The Apex Assault minor league team began their season against the Little River pirates. Game one saw the Assault spending time learning to play together as they lost a close one with the final score being 4-3 even though it seemed they had clearly outplayed their opponent, the Pirates took advantage of their scoring chances and scored on 4 of 14 shots.
Game 2 of the minor league double header saw an improvement in the Apex Assault and the net-minding of Joseph Garcia as he stopped all shots he faced and posted a 2-0 shutout win. The Assault Minors demonstrated that they are a very talented group of young players and with a little more time together, they aren’t likely to lose many games. Almost every player in the Apex Assault minor team posted at least one point on the day further proving that they are a talented young group. |
